The Waterloo Siskins are looking for passionate, community-minded individuals to join our hockey operations team for the upcoming 2026-27 season. As we continue to build a championship-caliber culture on and off the ice, we are seeking dedicated professionals to fill two vital roles: Sponsorship Coordinator and Billet Coordinator.
If you love junior hockey and want to make a direct impact on the success of our players and our organization, we want to hear from you!
1. Sponsorship Coordinator
Our partners are the lifeblood of this team. As the Sponsorship Coordinator, you will be the face of the Siskins in the Waterloo business community.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Identify and engage new local and regional corporate sponsors.
-
Manage existing accounts to ensure all sponsorship deliverables (rink boards, digital ads, game-day activations) are met.
-
Collaborate with the marketing team to create innovative “Game Night” experiences for our partners.
-
Develop customized sponsorship packages that provide high value to our community supporters.
Ideal Candidate: A natural networker with a background in sales, marketing, or community relations who isn’t afraid to pick up the phone and build new connections.
2. Billet Coordinator
The Billet Coordinator plays one of the most important roles in our organization: ensuring our players have a “home away from home.”
Key Responsibilities:
-
Recruit, screen, and interview potential billet families for the 2026-27 season.
-
Conduct home visits to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our athletes.
-
Act as the primary point of contact between the team, the players, and the host families.
-
Coordinate player-family matching to ensure a positive living dynamic for both parties.
Ideal Candidate: Someone with strong interpersonal skills, a nurturing personality, and great organizational habits. Experience with education, social work, or previous hockey billeting is a major asset.
Why Join the Siskins?
Working with the Siskins means being part of a historic GOJHL franchise with a deep commitment to player development and community pride. These are excellent opportunities for those looking to build a career in sports management or for community leaders who want to give back to the game.
